Oil Portraits

My experience with portraits is recent and so far I have only made sketches and watercolour portraits. I am very new to oil portraits. There won't be anything for sale any time soon but I open this collection to show what will hopefully be progress. I decided to start with a self portrait so that no one gets offended. For that first self portrait I used the Milan Art Institute approach to portrait painting starting with "monster portrait", big brush shapes and progressively moving to more likeness. My self portrait is still very cartoony though. More recently, I enrolled in Chris Fornataro's online course and Atilla's portrait is the first I made using this method.  More recently a friend commissioned me to paint the portrait of his two daughters.
