Welcome to L'Atelier 2.0 quarterly Newsletters - introduced in October 2025.
May issue

The end of winter and the beginning of spring have been very mild in Kosovo this year and this has inspired my appetite for painting.
Two new oil portraits have expanded the portrait collection: One shows Lily busy with chess and the other shows Aslan ready to go to school in his smart outfit.
I have created a new version of Regneville sur mer at low tide, with a violet blue evening sky, boats on the sand and yellow herbs moving in the wind. I had created a small format of that view last summer for friends recently arrived in our hamlet in Normandy. My friend Marta saw it on the website and commissioned me for a larger version of it.
I also produced an oil showing Tina, Nora and their friend Evelyne during their visit during my time in New York in 2015. This was in front of Max Fish in Brooklin Heights but as the oil was to be exhibited at Pizza Crust in Sunny hill, Pristina I renamed the shop in front of which the girls are posing.
Probably out of a bit of nostalgia I painted my house in the Haut d'Y Hamlet in Normandy, whose facade at this time of year is full of wisteria, agapanthus, lavender and roses.
Finally, I sold three of my paintings since the December issue, see short video below.

Autumn has been busy in Kosovo. The first picture shows a view of L'Atelier 2.0 in November.
An autumn variation (See picture 2) of my Chausey cows which was created in summer (See picture 4 of the October issue) is available in the shop section.
I then painted a scene showing Nora and her sons Aslan and Atilla walking in the park of Clingendael in The Hague (see picture 3). This oil was long due to Nora.
On a rainy autumn day I was sitting by a window in L'Atelier and watching the rain falIing I felt the need for a colourful oil. This is how I came up with these two Albanian girls standing in a colourful traditional interior (See picture 4) available in the shop section. Those knowing the tribe may find that the girls have something of Tina and Nora...
The last oil is a portrait of Rizah's father with a glass of Russian Tea in his hand (See Picture 5).
Finally four oils have been sold or reserved during the past two months and I am very pleased that this includes oils I painted early on (see video below).

October issue
Summer 2025 in Normandy has been relaxing and also a source of creativity.
Inspired by a visit to Dominique’s atelier in Urville-Naqueville in the North of Cotentin, where she creates wonderful sea creatures, Rizah and I started collecting driftwood and waste deposited by the tide, as well as second hand metal and leather, to create our own creatures. Our magic touch: necklaces and other costume jewellery brought back from my Cambodian adventures. The first picture above shows one of our first three creatures. More details about these creatures can be found in the Section Recycling.
This summer I painted a couple of oils for friends, inspired by seaside and garden views. The second picture shows the Boulangerie located in the garden of my friends Hélène and Pierre in our hamlet of Le Grand Haut d’Y in Créances, Cotentin. The third picture shows a sea view at Regneville sur Mer. Tall herbs are in the front and there are stranded boats at low tide in the background. The fourth picture shows cows in Chausey Islands, this last oil is already sold.
Before returning to Kosovo for the autumn I painted a revisited version of my Bohemian-style interior oil, shown in the fifth picture. The first one was sold earlier this year and since then I have received further expressions of interest for it. It is now available for sale in the Shop Section.
Since September, we are back in Kosovo and we experienced three seasons in one. Heat one day, snow a couple of days later and now real autumn, with sun, rain, wind and sun again the same day. During a walk in Prishtina, Rruge Nënë Tereza trees were illuminated by autumn’s colourful palette. A giant painting of Ibrahim Rugova keeps a benevolent eye on passers-by. This inspired my last oil shown in the sixth picture. It is available in the Shop Section. A short video showing the making of this oil has been posted on latelier2.0 instagram account.
